New kids on the block

Christie finally decided it was time to have her babies today, with a storm approaching and winds rattling the shed ... but it was all pretty much over by then. I will say she has fooled many by her size in late pregnancy - against numerous more or less educated guesses, she kidded today on day 153 of gestation with beautiful healthy TWINS.
While much contracting and positioning preceeded the big day, the delivery went smoothly with both kids presented correctly - the only obstacle being the large size of the Copper kids' heads. Quickly followed by the world's largest placenta (I think, lol), the kidding was uneventful and mom and kids are doing great.
So, let me introduce Christie's twins - a blond buck and brown doeling with splash and some spots, though they are hard to see in the photos. Not the best shots, I much dislike first day shots of anything goat related - the kids are wobbly and hunched up, usually messy from either poop or milk, does are passing afterbirth and everything is less than glorious the very first day ... but I have folks waiting to see photos and I did not want to disappoint them. More glam shots coming up soon, especially if the weather continues to look like spring outside :)

Really nice. Love the deep jaw on the buckling. The shot of Nadja with the kid looking up at her is beautiful. L

Thank you :) Lee, I was thinking the same - buck is wide throughout, a male at a first glance, I knew before I even looked.
