Home renovation

I owe an extra post for Friday which I spent in the ER only to be told that I am quite well which I was happy to hear :) I know this is not exactly farm related but I want to post for other farm folks who know just how much our personal space takes a back seat in favor of improvements elsewhere. Dreamy images of farm life usually do not portray the reality of  long hours, hard work, limited budget and .... last but not least ... DIRT. I won't even attempt to count how many times we go in and out of the house in a single day, leave along high traffic days during kidding season, etc. and this means dirt, dust and sand brought in daily. I am quite content to be practical and our budget usually goes to practical improvements to add storage space, replace flooring with a farm friendly choice (which is NOT carpet straight off the front door !) and other practicalities and functionalities such as plumbing, electrical, etc. to make sure they work properly. Our house is an older house and needs some TLC.
However, I am happy to annouce that we have finally come to the point where part of our budget is lavished on something that has nothing to do with practical choices but is all about bringing beauty and serenity to our front room, the hearth of our house and focal point of our daily activities. I am so tickled pink I can't contain myself. Can't wait to see the transformed space but for now I am content just letting my fantasy run loose in the midst of lumber, disarray and walls that scream for me to paint them.
Here is an inspiration photo - please note the board and batten cottage paneling and simple old style framing of doors and windows. I know the inspirational photo is a bedroom while we are remodeling our living room/dining room space leading into a kitchen but I can already see the cozy space forming and the calm and order that I sense from this picture taking place in our home.
Now, to only be brave and dare to paint the walls in subtle aqua trimmed in bright cheerful cream ..... I may chicken out and go cream with white trim but I am praying on it and my gut says to go aqua :) More updates soon ~

Karen, ok, I will go bold as long as you can sell the house when the time comes, ha ! Oh, the many shades of aqua to choose from, how fun this will be.

Worry about painting when you get ready to sell. You will most likely paint it to get the house ready to sell. That's when you paint neutral. But i've seen me some very neutral shades of aqua. Good luck!

London Architects on Sunday, October 07, 2018 3:48 AM
My grandparents find it difficult to stay in their apartment, because the lift often goes out of order. Thus, we have decided to construct a tiny home for them in our neighbourhood. My architect is going to prepare the layout of home design that can perfectly suit the elderly couple.
