My Blog

Ladies first :)

I plan to make up for my absence here - number of reason such as revisit from the kidney fairy, remodel, cold and kidding - by showering you with tons and tons of pictures. Since I am better and have nothing to do but fill milk bottles every three hours and update blog (my goal today anyway !), I want to feature Zia's kids one by one. Down the road and further into kidding season, there will likely be no such luxuries as there will be more bottles to fill, more udders to milk and more does to kid out. But today I am going all out :)

This is our first princess, she was the one tangled up with her brother. We think she is quite beautiful and very unique in coloring. Compared to sissy, she is taller, longer, with more room in the escutcheon and was blessed with longer ears. As she unfolds and gets more security in her legs, I hope to be able to tell you more about her. We like her width, head and ear set and she reminds me a lot of her half sister Velvet.

As far as color goes, she is black with brown spots and splash on nose, frosted ears and muzzle, frosting around her eyes (she gets this from her dam, just more pronounced) a few white spots and some white on legs. So far, the brown moonspots are not showing any white undercoat as they usually do, so we are wondering if they will turn cream later on or stay the way they are. Either way, this is one special girl :)

She doesn't have any name yet but will need one soon, so any suggestions are welcome.

We're partial to princess names on our farm, and since she was tangled, I'd caller her Rapunzel :)
